Anderson wins House District 50B special election
Republican candidate Chad Anderson won the special election to replace Ann Lenczewski in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
The Feb. 9 election for the House District 50B seat vacated by Lenczewski was a close race, as Anderson defeated Democratic-Farmer-Labor candidate Andrew Carlson by 130 votes.
Anderson received 2,582 votes from constituents in the district, which is entirely within Bloomington. Carlson received 2,452 votes. By percentages, Anderson won with 51.2 percent to Carlson’s 48.7. Five write-in ballots were cast in the election, according to election information provided by the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
